Kandystand are the hottest new dance music act originally from the UK, but now living and making music in The Netherlands.
Music Production - DJ Alodis
DJ Alodis produces the music, and has his roots in house music. He started collecting and spinning tracks from classic labels such as DJ International, Traxx and Westside Records as far back as the 1980's. He was influenced heavily by the late 80's synth pop explosion, such as the Pet Shop Boys, Erasure and stateside releases / remixes from Shep Pettibone and Jellybean Benitez. This also led to a following of the early Madonna tracks and a path into music production. His all time favourite track is Love Invasion, a little known and under rated house track by Shawn Christopher. DJ Alodis thought it was time to bring this track to the fore, so produced it for Kandystand in a Euro Dance style.
Vocals - Katy 'D'
Katy D is originally from Sweden, and started her career in radio presenting, with her own show on international radio (Spectrum 558).
After meeting up with DJ Alodis through a radio station, took a turn into music as they shared the same influences and musical tastes. Katy D now fronts Kandystand as the lead vocalist and image of the band.
Kandystand work out of their base in Hilversum, The Netherlands, the media capital of Holland.
The Netherlands has a great dance music community, with the biggest and best dance parties in Europe. With the largest dance party each year 'Sensation' being held at the Ajax stadium in Amsterdam, and Rotterdam's trance and dance heritage its the perfect country for Kandystand to record and promote their music!
